1. Our approach

Kur'an-ı Kerim: Sesli Hatim offers verse and translation reading, audio playback, memorization, khatm tracking, prayer times and qibla features. No account or sign-in is required.

Your reading records are stored in the app's space on your device. There is no developer-operated user account, reading-record server or automatic cloud synchronization. Audio downloads, Android speech recognition and location/city lookup services may use a network; these activities are explained below.

2. Information stored on your device

  • Reading and khatm: Your current verse, completion goal and starting details, daily reading logs, streaks and statistics.
  • Favorites and notes: Favorite verses, dates added and notes you write.
  • Preferences: Language, theme, font and size, reciter, playback speed, verse repeats, and first-use/reminder preferences.
  • Locations: Saved city names and coordinates, and the last location used for prayer times.
  • Downloaded audio: Verse audio files kept on your device for offline listening.

These records let you resume reading, view favorites and notes, calculate prayer times and prepare local reminders. The Arabic text and translations in four languages are bundled local files, not retrieved from a server for reading.

3. Location, prayer times and qibla

Approximate location permission on Android supports prayer times and qibla for your area. The app does not continuously track location in the background. If permission is denied, a saved/default location or manual selection can be used for prayer times; location-dependent features may be limited.

Prayer times are calculated on your device. Android's geocoding service converts city names to coordinates and coordinates to city names. It may use a network and process the city/location query with your device's service provider. Location and compass sensors are used on the device for qibla.

4. Microphone and voice search

Voice search uses the microphone through Android's speech recognition service when you grant permission. The app does not send audio recordings to its own server or create a permanent recording archive. Verse/surah searches using the recognized words run on your device.

The Android recognizer may process audio on remote servers, depending on the device's provider. The app does not require on-device-only recognition, so offline voice search is not guaranteed on every device. The provider's processing and retention are governed by its own policy. You can manage microphone permission in device settings and use typed search without it.

5. Internet, audio archive and external services

Verse audio is downloaded over HTTPS from the EveryAyah archive for your selected reciter and can then be played locally. During a download, the archive/infrastructure provider receives connection details such as IP address, request time and the requested audio file. The app does not attach your favorites, notes or complete reading history to audio requests.

Rating the app or opening its store page is subject to Google Play's own data practices. Android speech, geocoding and operating-system services operate under their respective providers' terms.

6. Notifications, widgets and permissions

Prayer-time alerts, daily verses and reading reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No developer-operated remote push service is used. Android restart information is used to restore scheduled notifications.

Notifications and the home-screen widget may show verses, location names or prayer times, which others may see depending on your settings. You can manage notification permission in system settings and remove the widget. Internet access supports audio downloads, the microphone supports voice search, and approximate location supports prayer times/qibla. The app does not request camera, contacts, SMS or call-log access.

7. Backups, sharing and device transfer

Manual backup: When you choose to export, reading progress, favorites and notes, reading history, khatm plans, saved locations and transferable preferences are written to a JSON file. Downloaded audio and some device-specific states are excluded. The file is not password-encrypted; anyone with access can read it. Keep it secure.

The email, cloud-storage or other app you select in the system share menu saves or sends the file. Sharing verse images/text also sends the chosen content to your recipient. These actions are subject to the destination service's terms; the app has no cloud account of its own. Restoring a backup may replace existing records.

Android backup and device-transfer settings may allow local data to be included in system backups or moved to another device. Manage these in device backup settings. The developer cannot access your system backups.

8. Advertising, analytics and tracking

The current source version has no advertising, usage-analytics or automatic developer crash-reporting SDK. Reading statistics are calculated locally and are not sent to the developer as analytics reports. This does not mean that the external services described above process no connection or service data.

This policy covers the mobile app. Any hosting logs or cookies on the website publishing it are subject to that site's separate disclosures.

9. Retention and deletion

Local records remain until you delete them or clear app data. You can remove favorites and notes in Favorites and saved places in Locations. Resetting the khatm only returns your reading position to the first verse; it does not erase all favorites, notes or reading history. Clearing the audio cache in Settings removes downloaded audio files.

To remove all local data, use Android Settings → Apps → Kur'an-ı Kerim: Sesli Hatim → Storage and clear app data; labels vary by device. Uninstalling normally removes the app's local space. There is no app account to delete, and the developer cannot remotely delete records on your device.

Local deletion does not erase exported backups, shared images, system backups or external services' own records. Manage those copies in the relevant device/service. Restoring an old backup may bring deleted records back.

10. Security

Records are kept in the storage space assigned to the app by the operating system. The app provides no additional password or biometric lock; manual JSON backups are unencrypted. Audio downloads use HTTPS. Platform services' protections depend on their providers.

Use a device screen lock, keep the system updated, and share notes/backups only with people you trust. Someone with access to your device may see records in the open app. No storage or transmission method guarantees absolute security.

11. Children, support and privacy requests

There is no account-registration feature or feature requesting children's contact details. Parents and legal guardians can send privacy questions to the address below. Do not send unnecessary personal information or sensitive notes in support requests.

When you email us, your address, message and attachments you choose to include are processed by the developer and email service to reply. Reading records are not automatically attached. Correspondence is retained for the time needed to resolve the request and any applicable retention obligations. Use the same address for information, correction or deletion requests.
